Monoprint collage on Hanji Paper
24.5 x 18 inches
This work is one in a series of prints in which I am using abstract language and engaging with the possibilities of my many forms. In these works, I'm merging my usual shapes with the excess paper that remains from my many cutouts. Just like in life itself, I like to explore various approaches to my mark-making. The way I make marks on a sheet of paper is a reflection of my lived experience and my gaze on the world. These works are are about love and transformation, and the desire to always be evolving. I opted for a more muted style of colors to push myself to find the beauty in the colors that I tend to use less of.
