4 Color Screen Print on French Paper
This print represents the small ways in which I create a loving and nurturing space for myself and my community in the age of pandemic. I have mostly been a plant mama and focused on indoor green plants and food that I can grow, and I wasn’t really into flowers because they require very specific care. However, I love the ways in which flowers bring joy and life into a space. I love gifting and receiving flowers from loved ones. I love looking at the flowers and feeling alive by their color and knowing that bees were hard at work pollinating them. Recently, I’ve really enjoyed going to my local farmer's market and getting in-season, fresh flowers to create bouquets throughout my home. I even ordered myself a bunch of Ranunculus buds and started to put them in the ground, right next to my lettuces. I’m also caring a lot for my bougainvilleas which are popping right now. These screenprints incorporate some of my new forms of layering textures and working with patterns.
