This collage is one of two in a series of experiments celebrating Indigenous Earth Defenders. These collages are experiments that I did with leftover elements from a previous series in which I used open hands - the Listen to Your Body series. I will often have leftover elements that are too beautiful to throw out, therefore I'll save these elements and remix them with other leftover orphans from other collages. 

After creating the Femmes of Earth series, I needed something that was a bit more loose and that's when I created these two characters. My intention was to make the hair look like it was reaching out towards the sky. The hair is full of energy and is in dialogue with the sun and the moon.
