My new Soft Ground and Aquatint etching celebrates queer femme love. It’s about the magic of the first kiss.

I wanted the aesthetic of my drawing to honor and uplift the 80s culture that first spoke to me when I was growing up, the bold and unapologetic art that came out of ACT UP and shaped so much of my understanding about how bold and unapologetic queer love could be.

In this piece, I used lace in one of the character’s hair as a symbol of the feminine and the domestic, a tender nod to softness and care.This etching is a highly limited edition with only 15 prints available. These were created in collaboration with master printer Nichol Markowitz at Moonlight Press. It was such a gift to work in a medium that beautifully carries my drawing style while introducing a rare and dreamy color palette.
