In this series I capture the serene interplay between flora and the human spirit, symbolizing my deep relationship with the natural world. This artwork invites you to slow down and reconnect with yourself through the vibrant and calming presence of flowers and plants.
The warm hues represent the arrival of warm weather, as the sun fills my garden with life and color. This personal connection to flowers was sparked in 2016, when my father was dying of cancer. During the months of April and May, the garden he once tenderly cared for burst into full bloom. This natural cycle of life and death was as a beautiful reminder of the interconnectedness of all living things.
Through the nurturing of plants and flowers, I find a way to care for and honor myself. This practice allows me to connect with the deep wisdom inherent in plant species, particularly when nurturing them from the seed stage. The meticulous care I give my plants symbolizes my ability to foster life, allowing it to blossom and thrive.
"Sunlit Botanicals" is an invitation to embrace the gentle rhythm of nature, reminding us of the enduring cycle of life and the wisdom that emerges when we connect to the world of flowers.
