Four Color Screenprint on French Paper
My Big Sur screenprinted series is here. These works celebrate one of my favorite places to write and reflect. I started going to Big Sur in 2021 as I was working on my film about womb healing.
I needed to be at a place where I could really delve into my memories and sit with some of the generational family trauma that I was carrying. I fell in love with the land and it brought out a really beautiful part of my story.
There was an exercise that my writing coach had me do, which was to consider what I would do if I only had one year to live. As I was reflecting on this question, I was staring out into a beautiful view of the ocean that I will never forget.
These limited edition 4-color hand printed screenprints are about the depth of my experience at Big Sur and how fundamental it has been to my creative process.
The storms in California have greatly impacted Big Sur. I will be donating a portion of funds from the sale of these prints to the Indigenous stewards of the area we call Big Sur today The Esselen Tribe of Monterey County
