This print is part of my recent series of works in which I explore values that are important to me. Collaborating with individuals and organizations engaged in social change work has shown me the beauty and strength inherent in these efforts. Through my art, I aim to capture the exquisite essence and beauty of this transformative work, often incorporating elements from nature such as birds and flowers.

During the initial decade of my art career, my art explicitly depicted resistance and dismantling oppressive systems. Therefore there were a lot of fists and protesting crowds in my works. 

As my creative practice evolved, however, I transitioned towards a more joyous and uplifting approach, seeking to depict positive change through more affirming images. In this spirit, I present three recent works that embody key values I hold dear as a changemaker: POWER, VOICE, and CLARITY.

Within these artworks, you'll discover glimpses of the vibrant coastal California ecosystem that I’ve had the privilege to explore. Delicate mosses, variegated clovers, leafy daisies, and the elegant pacific starflower intertwine with the presence of birds like the Lazuli Bunting and Mew Gull. 

Combining these natural symbols with words creates a tapestry that reminds us of our profound interconnection and the collective responsibility we have in building a better world for all beings, both human and non-human.

Through art, we can embrace our harmonious coexistence, celebrating the interconnectedness of all that is alive.
