In 2024, I revisited my iconic Power Fists to create a new series celebrating a symbol central to my work for 25 years. This series surrounds the fist with towering trees and the sun, symbolizing hope, resilience, and the connection between humanity and nature. I began using the fist in 2018 during resistance against Donald Trump, and it has since become a recurring emblem of collective justice and freedom. New linoleum block patterns within the fist reflect my evolving use of intricate designs within larger shapes. Overall, the series fuses past and present, exploring symbology, activism, and biomimicry.

In this piece, root-like patterns run through the fist and resemble a tree trunk, a reminder that being grounded in our power like trees makes us stronger and able to weather harsh conditions.
