This work pays homage to the movement for a Free Palestine that is literally shutting down roads, streets, and airports and standing against genocide. The piece celebrates the direct action for Palestine that took place on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 7:45 a.m. on the San Francisco Bay Bridge during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) global conference. The action demanded a ceasefire and called out President Biden to do more for the Palestinians and to end military aid to Israel. 

The print celebrates the activism that began to explode in the Bay Area in defense of a Free Palestine in the Fall of 2023. Organizers from the Bay Area led powerful political actions, including blocking weapon shipments to Israel at the Port of Oakland and working with city electeds to pass resolutions in support of a ceasefire.

We in the Bay Area have a deep history of direct action and unapologetic activism, and we inspire the world. Through my art, I immortalize powerful moments of resistance, so that they may remain alive in our collective consciousness - visual records in our shared imagination.
