We have one home, Planet Earth. In this era of climate chaos, artists must confront a crisis that violently and disproportionately harms Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Colonization and white supremacy engineered the climate crisis through stolen land, stolen labor, genocide, and the extraction and commodification of human beings, animals, forests, waters, and the Earth itself. These systems are not history. They are alive and operating today. Climate justice cannot exist without Indigenous sovereignty, reparations, Land Back, and racial justice. As a descendant of impacted peoples and someone raised in a polluted community shaped by extractive industries, I am committed to defending life on Earth.
